Eating Disorders Program - Adult - Vancouver

Provided by Vancouver Coastal Health

Serves people who have Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Eating Disorders not otherwise specified (but not binge-eating disorder). For adults living in VCH catchment (with the exception of Richmond).
Provides client-centred care that empowers individuals and families to take responsibility for the recovery process from eating disorders to enhance their quality of life. The team includes therapists, outreach counsellors, physicians, a dietitian, nurses, a psychiatrist, and a recreation therapist.

The Eating Disorders program is group therapy based; patients must be willing to work in a group setting. Services are free of charge, and treatment options include:
  • Group work
  • Family and friends support group
  • Nutritional
  • Specialized medical care (consultation) and limited psychiatric support
  • Recreation therapy and outreach



  • Consultation and education are also available to community agencies and professionals to promote awareness and early intervention. The Vancouver Eating Disorders Program offers community based, outpatient support and treatment to youth and adults with eating disorders. Please see page 6 of our general referral form for more details on our diagnostic criteria for our adult programs.

    Eligibility: Adults (19+) living in Vancouver, North Shore, Sunshine Coast and Sea to Sky.
    DOES NOT PROVIDE URGENT CARE. NURSES WILL OFFER CONSULTATION AND DIRECTION TO PCP AS APPROPRIATE.
