Helping seniors stay independent longer by providing support services and counselling.
Seniors Community Connection (Information & Referral)
A free, multilingual information and referral service provided by trained volunteers to assist older adults in accessing essential resources, including housing, healthcare, and government benefits.

SHINE Program (Seniors Housing Information and Navigation Ease)
The SHINE Housing Navigator helps seniors access housing supports and resources, complete housing applications, and maintain safe living conditions.

Social Prescribing / Community Connector
The Community Connector supports older adults in exploring services and activities that enhance their well-being. This includes guidance on positive lifestyle changes, benefits access, exercise and nutrition programs, and community connections.

Grocery Shopping
Seniors or their family members can submit orders, and Volunteers take grocery orders via phone or email, shop for seniors, and arrange delivery.

Senior Peer Counselling
Trained senior volunteers provide emotional support through weekly one-on-one sessions, helping older adults cope with challenges and distress.

Prescription Pick-Up and Delivery
This service is for seniors whose pharmacy does not provide delivery. Clients need to have ordered and paid for their prescription before pick-up/delivery.

Richmond Family & Friend Caregiver Hub
This hub promotes the health and well-being of unpaid caregivers for older adults, offering access to peer support, workshops, a resource library, and other essential services.

Richmond Better at Home Program (BAH)
  • Transportation: A volunteer-driven transportation service provides rides for medical and select non- medical appointments, with fees based on a sliding scale according to the client's income.
  • Friendly Visiting: A free, one-on-one service aimed at alleviating social isolation, available in multiple languages. Volunteers visit or call seniors weekly to foster connection and support.
  • Light Housekeeping: This service assists seniors in maintaining a safe and healthy home environment. Offered through professional contractors, fees are based on a sliding scale according to income.
